Our History

Banbury Mosque, nestled in the heart of Oxfordshire, has served as a vibrant hub for spiritual and community life since its expansion in 2008. This enhancement included the addition of dedicated prayer spaces for women, affirming its commitment to inclusivity despite facing local critiques. In 2009, the mosque was honored to host Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais, the esteemed Imam of Masjid al-Haram, who delivered a poignant speech to its congregants. Furthering its role as a community cornerstone, the mosque also encompasses Ash-Shifa School, catering to educational needs. In 2012, the mosque underwent significant renovations by Civic Construction Limited, modernizing its facilities to better serve its growing community.
