A Summer Space for Friendship, Activities and Positive Growth

The Summer Youth Club 2026 is an exciting programme for young people aged 12 and above, offering separate weekly sessions for girls and boys throughout August 2026. Taking place at the Umar Education & Welfare Centre in Banbury, the youth club provides a welcoming space where young people can meet, take part in activities, build friendships and enjoy positive social experiences during the summer holidays.

The teenage years are an important stage of personal and social development. Young people need spaces where they can communicate openly, develop confidence, build healthy friendships and spend their free time in a positive environment. The Summer Youth Club aims to provide exactly that through regular sessions focused on connection, participation and enjoyable activities.

With separate sessions for girls and boys, the programme provides young people with opportunities to meet regularly throughout August. From group activities and sports to gaming, conversations and social time, each session aims to create a relaxed atmosphere where young people can feel involved and connected.

What to Expect at the Summer Youth Club

The Summer Youth Club is designed around the interests and needs of young people. The sessions provide opportunities to participate in different types of activities while also allowing time for conversation, friendship and community connection.

Activities may include sports and physical challenges, team games, gaming sessions, group discussions, social activities and opportunities for personal development. The programme aims to balance active participation with relaxed social time, allowing young people to enjoy the club while developing useful interpersonal skills.

Team activities can encourage communication, cooperation and leadership. Games and sporting activities provide opportunities for friendly competition and physical activity, while group conversations can help young people share ideas and learn from one another.

The focus is on creating enjoyable summer evenings where participants can have fun, make friends and spend time in a positive setting.

Building Confidence and Positive Friendships

A youth club can be much more than a place to spend free time. It can provide young people with opportunities to develop confidence, communication skills and a stronger sense of belonging.

Meeting regularly with people of a similar age can help young participants build social confidence and form new friendships. Through teamwork, conversations and shared activities, participants can develop communication skills and learn how to work positively with others.

The Summer Youth Club also provides an alternative to spending the entire holiday period at home or online. While gaming and technology may form part of the programme, the wider focus is on encouraging real interaction, participation and positive shared experiences.

A Positive Summer Experience for Young People

Summer holidays offer young people more free time, but finding regular, age-appropriate activities can sometimes be challenging. The Summer Youth Club provides a structured weekly opportunity to get involved, meet friends and try different activities.

The programme is designed to be welcoming and enjoyable rather than overly formal. Young people can participate, socialise and become part of a supportive environment.

Whether someone enjoys sports, games, group activities or simply meeting and talking with others, the youth club aims to offer something valuable for different personalities and interests.
