Yasmin Kaduji Appointed Chair of Oxfordshire FA Inclusion Action Group

Banbury community leader Yasmin Kaduji has been appointed Chair of the Oxfordshire Football Association's Inclusion Action Group. The appointment recognises her experience in community engagement and her commitment to helping people from different backgrounds access local opportunities.
Yasmin, who co-founded the Banbury Community Fridge, also plays an important role in organising community activities and programmes at Banbury Madni Masjid. Her new position offers an opportunity to support greater participation in football throughout Oxfordshire.
As Chair of the Oxfordshire FA Inclusion Action Group, Yasmin will help support efforts to make football more accessible to people across the county.
Her responsibilities will include working alongside equality, diversity and inclusion ambassadors to encourage participation among groups that may face barriers to getting involved in football.
The group's areas of focus include:
These priorities aim to create more opportunities for people to enjoy football, develop confidence and take part in community sporting activities.
Yasmin has been actively involved in several community programmes connected with Banbury Madni Masjid.
Her responsibilities include supporting education, adult learning, health and wellbeing activities, community partnerships and mosque operations.
Through this work, she helps bring together residents, volunteers and local organisations to deliver activities that benefit the wider Banbury community.
She has also contributed to sports initiatives through Banbury PlayZones, which forms part of Cherwell District Council's wider strategic plans for 2024–2028.
Her experience in community engagement provides a valuable foundation for her new responsibilities with Oxfordshire FA.
Alongside her work at the mosque, Yasmin is a co-founder of Banbury Community Fridge, an initiative based at Banbury Madni Masjid on Merton Street.
The project provides access to free food, helps reduce food waste and encourages local residents to support one another.
Working with volunteers, businesses and community partners, the initiative helps redistribute surplus food while creating opportunities for people to connect.
The community fridge reflects the importance of cooperation, kindness and practical support in everyday community life.
Residents can learn more about the initiative through the Banbury Community Fridge programme.
Football can bring people together, encourage physical activity and provide opportunities to build friendships.
However, some individuals face challenges accessing local sporting activities because of disability, limited opportunities or other barriers.
Through the Inclusion Action Group, Yasmin will support Oxfordshire FA's work to understand these challenges and encourage participation among underrepresented communities.
Her background in community projects and local partnerships will contribute to discussions about making grassroots football more welcoming and accessible.
Yasmin Kaduji's appointment is a positive development for Banbury and reflects the wider contribution of local community leaders.
Her involvement with Banbury Madni Masjid, Banbury Community Fridge and other community initiatives demonstrates how local engagement can create opportunities beyond individual organisations.
At Banbury Madni Masjid, we congratulate Yasmin on her appointment and wish her every success in her new role.
We look forward to seeing her continued contribution to community development and greater accessibility in football across Oxfordshire.
