Every child experiences the world in their own unique way, and every parent deserves understanding, guidance, and support throughout their journey. Beyond the Label – A Psychologist Guide for Parents is a free community event organised by Banbury Madni Masjid to provide parents and carers of neurodivergent and autistic children with practical advice, professional guidance, and a welcoming environment where they can ask questions without fear of judgement.
This informative evening is designed to empower families with knowledge, build confidence, and strengthen local support networks. Whether your child has recently received a diagnosis, is awaiting assessment, or you simply want to better understand neurodiversity, this event offers valuable insights that can make a real difference in everyday life.
The evening will feature an experienced guest psychologist who will share practical strategies to help parents better understand and support their children both at home and in educational settings.
The session has been designed to provide realistic advice that parents can begin applying immediately.
One of the highlights of the evening will be an interactive Question and Answer session where parents and carers can speak directly with the guest psychologist.
This judgement-free space allows attendees to ask questions, share experiences, and receive practical guidance on challenges they may be facing. No question is too small, and every family is welcome.
Parenting can sometimes feel isolating, particularly when raising neurodivergent children. This event also offers an opportunity to meet other local parents and carers who understand similar experiences.
Building a supportive community helps families exchange ideas, encourage one another, and develop lasting friendships within a caring environment.
