Build Confidence, Communication and Creative Thinking Skills

Banbury Madni Masjid, in collaboration with the Umar Education & Welfare Centre and community partners, is pleased to present the Creative Workshop 2026, a free four-day programme designed for young people aged 13 to 18 years old.

Taking place on 17, 18, 19 and 20 August 2026, the workshop provides young participants with an opportunity to develop essential communication, confidence and presentation skills in a supportive and engaging environment. Sessions will run from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Monday to Thursday.

Participants can choose the way that works best for them, with the option to join online or onsite. The onsite sessions will take place at the Umar Education & Welfare Centre.

The Creative Workshop is designed to help young people explore their ideas, communicate with greater confidence and learn how to present their thoughts effectively. Through practical activities and guided sessions, participants will work towards developing skills that can support them in education, future employment, entrepreneurship and everyday life.

What Will Participants Learn?

Having a good idea is only the beginning. Being able to explain that idea clearly, confidently and persuasively is an equally important skill.

Throughout the Creative Workshop 2026, participants will be encouraged to think independently, develop original ideas and learn how to communicate those ideas to others. The programme focuses on building practical abilities that young people can continue to use long after the workshop has finished.

Participants will work on areas such as confidence building, verbal communication, presenting ideas, teamwork and effective self-expression. The workshop will also encourage young people to listen to feedback, improve their ideas and become more comfortable speaking in front of others.

The sessions aim to provide a positive environment where participants can experiment with ideas, ask questions and gradually build their confidence without unnecessary pressure.

Choose to Join Online or Onsite

To make the programme more accessible, the Creative Workshop 2026 offers participants the flexibility to attend either online or onsite.

Young people who prefer face-to-face learning can attend sessions at the Umar Education & Welfare Centre. Those who are unable to attend in person can choose the online option and participate remotely.

This flexible format helps more young people take part while allowing families to select the attendance method that best suits their circumstances.

Regardless of the chosen format, the workshop aims to provide an interactive and practical learning experience focused on participation, creativity and personal development.

From Ideas to a Live Showcase

One of the most exciting elements of the Creative Workshop is the opportunity for participants to put their new skills into practice.

The programme will conclude with a live showcase event, where participants will have the opportunity to present their ideas to local businesses and community figures. This gives young people a meaningful goal to work towards throughout the programme while providing valuable experience in presenting to a real audience.

Preparing for the showcase will help participants understand how to structure an idea, communicate its value and deliver a presentation with greater clarity and confidence.

For many young people, speaking in front of an audience can initially feel challenging. By developing their ideas gradually throughout the workshop and receiving guidance along the way, participants can gain valuable experience in public speaking and presentation.

Who Can Join the Creative Workshop?

The Creative Workshop 2026 is open to young people aged 13–18 years old. It may be particularly beneficial for teenagers who want to become more confident communicators, improve their presentation abilities, explore creative ideas or gain practical experience speaking in front of others.

No previous experience is required. The workshop is intended to provide an encouraging environment where participants can learn, practise and develop at their own pace.

The programme is completely free, making it an excellent opportunity for young people in Banbury and the surrounding areas to take part in a valuable personal development experience during the summer.
