Insight to Muharram: A Special Children's Event

Discover Sailing Taster Sessions for Ladies & Children

Little Steps in the Footsteps of Ahlul Bayt

Welcome the blessed month of Muharram with a special educational gathering designed specifically for the younger members of our community! Banbury Madni Masjid, in collaborative partnership with Banbury Makkah Masjid and the Umar Education and Welfare Centre, is delighted to invite parents and their children to "Insight to Muharram."

This highly engaging children's event is beautifully themed around taking "Little steps in the footsteps of Ahlul Bayt," aiming to connect our youth with the profound and noble legacy of the Prophet Muhammad's (peace and blessings be upon him) family. Muharram is not just the beginning of the Islamic New Year; it is a sacred month of deep historical and spiritual significance. It is vital that we pass these beautiful lessons down to the next generation in a nurturing, accessible, and loving environment.

A Day of Storytelling, Remembrance, and Reflection

Our carefully curated program is packed with age-appropriate activities designed to captivate your child's heart and mind. Running for a focused hour and a half, the event promises a highly meaningful afternoon consisting of:

  • Storytelling: Captivating and interactive stories will be shared to bring the rich Islamic history of Muharram and the noble Ahlul Bayt to life. Children will learn about concepts of bravery, patience, compassion, and unwavering faith through inspiring historical accounts tailored just for them.
  • Remembrance (Dhikr): We will gently guide the children in simple, beautiful acts of remembrance, teaching them the importance and peace of keeping Allah in their hearts and on their tongues.
  • Reflection: Through guided, child-friendly discussions, attendees will have the opportunity to reflect on the stories they have heard, helping them understand how to apply these timeless Islamic morals to their everyday lives at home and at school.

Why Your Child Should Attend

In today's fast-paced world, providing our children with a strong, unwavering spiritual foundation is more important than ever. This event offers a safe, welcoming, and joyful space for kids to socialize with their peers while deepening their love for Islam. By participating in this gathering, children will build a stronger sense of Muslim identity and community belonging. The visually stimulating and friendly atmosphere ensures that learning about Islam is a happy, uplifting, and memorable experience for everyone involved.
