Banbury Madni Masjid warmly welcomes brothers and sisters to join the community for a special Rabi ul Awwal Ziyarah as we come together in remembrance and reflection during this blessed month.
The latest programme will take place on Sunday 13th September 2026, with the Ziyarah scheduled between Asr and Maghrib Salah at Banbury Madni Masjid.
Rabi ul Awwal is a significant month in the Islamic calendar and provides an opportunity for Muslims to reflect upon the life, character, teachings and beautiful example of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. The Ziyarah offers members of the local community an opportunity to come together in a respectful and spiritually focused environment.
The programme forms part of the wider Rabi ul Awwal activities being organised across Banbury Madni Masjid, Banbury Makkah Masjid and the Umar Education & Welfare Centre.
The mosque's location and wider community facilities can be explored through the Banbury Madni Masjid Centre.
Alongside the main Ziyarah, the latest Rabi ul Awwal programme includes regular weekly Ladies Milad gatherings across the community.
These sessions provide sisters with opportunities to come together for Milad, Islamic reminders, reflection and remembrance in a welcoming environment.
The Monday and Wednesday gatherings provide sisters with regular opportunities to attend Milad programmes at Banbury Madni Masjid during Rabi ul Awwal.
Sisters can also attend the regular Urdu Milad gatherings at Banbury Makkah Masjid on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The mosque's second centre provides another important place for worship, learning and community activities in Banbury.
You can learn more about the Banbury Makkah Masjid Center.
The Umar Education & Welfare Centre will also host regular Ladies Milad sessions every Friday and Saturday, extending the Rabi ul Awwal programme across the community.
The centre is part of Banbury Madni Masjid's wider network of community facilities and hosts a range of educational, social and family activities throughout the year.
The Rabi ul Awwal programme is an opportunity to increase our connection with the Seerah and reflect upon the noble qualities demonstrated by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
Through Ziyarah, Milad and regular gatherings, community members can spend time remembering the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, learning from his example and strengthening their connection with Islamic teachings.
Those interested in learning more about the life of the Prophet ﷺ can also explore the mosque's Seerah of Our Beloved Prophet ﷺ, which is part of the wider educational programme offered by Banbury Madni Masjid. The website also provides information about Islamic Months for those wishing to learn more about the Islamic calendar.
Rabi ul Awwal brings members of the Banbury Muslim community together through a variety of programmes designed around remembrance, learning and community connection.
The combination of the 13th September Ziyarah and the regular Ladies Milad gatherings gives brothers and sisters different opportunities to participate according to the programme available at each centre.
Families can also stay informed about other activities taking place throughout the year by visiting the Events and Courses page.
For those interested in continuing their Islamic learning beyond Rabi ul Awwal, Banbury Madni Masjid also provides a range of Educational Programmes covering different areas of Islamic knowledge.
Brothers and sisters are warmly invited to participate in the Rabi ul Awwal Ziyarah and the regular Ladies Milad gatherings.
Whether you regularly attend Banbury Madni Masjid or are joining the community for the first time, these gatherings provide an opportunity to spend time in remembrance, reflect upon the beautiful example of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and connect with fellow members of the local Muslim community.
We look forward to welcoming the community throughout the Rabi ul Awwal programme.
