Join the Stay & Play Mummy & Me sessions in Banbury at Umar Centre, a friendly weekly group created for mums, mums-to-be, babies, toddlers, and young children aged 0–5.
The sessions provide a relaxed environment where children can enjoy play and early learning activities while mums have the opportunity to meet others, build friendships, and become part of a supportive local community.
The group takes place every Monday during term time from 10:30 AM to 12:00 noon at Umar Centre in Banbury.

The Stay & Play Mummy & Me group provides a welcoming space for mothers and young children to spend time together in a comfortable community environment.
Young children learn a great deal through play. Simple activities involving toys, building blocks, movement and interaction can encourage curiosity, communication and confidence while allowing children to enjoy themselves at their own pace.
For mums, the sessions also offer an opportunity to meet other parents, share experiences and develop longer-term friendships within the Banbury community.
The sessions are suitable for babies, toddlers and young children up to the age of five.
Play-based environments can encourage children to explore, communicate and interact with others. Activities such as building, imaginative play and age-appropriate toys can help children practise different skills naturally through enjoyable experiences.
The focus is not formal classroom learning. Instead, children are given an opportunity to play, explore and socialise in a relaxed environment.
The group is also open to mums-to-be, allowing expectant mothers to meet other women and begin building connections within the local community.
Parenthood can sometimes feel isolating, particularly for those who are new to an area or do not already have a strong local network. Community groups such as Stay & Play can provide an informal setting where women can meet, talk and develop supportive friendships.
One of the main aims highlighted by the programme is to create long-term friendships while encouraging children’s play and learning.
Regular weekly sessions allow families to become familiar with one another over time, helping create a stronger sense of community.
The programme forms part of the wider educational and community work associated with Banbury Madni Masjid Centre and Umar Education & Welfare Centre.
Stay & Play takes place every Monday from 10:30 AM until 12:00 noon during term time.
Because sessions follow the school term, parents should confirm current dates before travelling during school holidays or term breaks.
Families interested in other local activities can also explore the Banbury Madni Masjid events page for upcoming family, educational, wellbeing and community programmes.
