Fulfil your religious obligation with Banbury Madni Masjid and help those in need.
Fitrana must be paid before Eid salah and is due on every member of the household. It helps the poor enjoy the day of Eid without hardship.
Fidya is given by those who are unable to fast due to long-term illness or old age. It provides meals for those in need during Ramadan.
Fidya is a form of compassionate charity prescribed for those who cannot fast during Ramadan due to long-term or permanent reasons such as chronic illness or old age and who do not have the ability to make up those fasts later. It enables you to feed a needy person in place of every fast you miss.
Islam teaches that if someone genuinely cannot fast and cannot make up the fasts afterwards, they should pay fidya. This reflects the mercy and ease within Islamic law, linking personal worship with community support.
You should pay fidya if:
Fidya isn’t just a religious duty — it’s a chance to feed someone in need and extend the blessings of Ramadan beyond personal worship.
By fulfilling your fidya obligation, you:
Help ensure families receive nutritious meals in a difficult time
Support those who face hunger and poverty
Reflect the generosity and compassion of Ramadan
Your donation has both spiritual reward and social impact.
Fidya must be given to the poor and needy who struggle to provide food for themselves or their families. Scholars consider fidya similar to zakat in terms of eligibility, meaning all those entitled to receive zakat are also eligible for fidya support.
