Qurbani 2025 - Share the Joy of Eid ul-Adha

Qurbani is one of the two major festivals in Islam and takes place during Eid ul-Adha which falls in the first Islamic month. It is the time when Muslims honour the great sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and show love and obedience to Allah (SWT).

As part of this sacred duty, a goat, sheep, cow, or camel is sacrificed - and the meat is distributed to those in need. Qurbani is not just a religious responsibility for those who can afford it - it's also a beautiful way to share blessings and bring communities together.

At Banbury Madni Masjid, we invite you to be part of this noble cause. Your Qurbani donation will help ensure that poor and needy families, who may rarely enjoy a meat meal, can celebrate Eid with dignity and joy.

Fulfil your Qurbani with us - and bring smiles to those who need it most.

Family Qurbani - Spread Happiness

Eid-ul-Adha is a time for family, faith, and selfless giving. With just £85, you can perform a Qurbani share, or offer a complete family Qurbani of 7 shares for £595—a beautiful way to come together as a family and provide for those who have so little.

Step 2 Image
Help the Needy — Be Their Lifeline

On Eid morning, some families wake up not knowing where their next meal will come from, but your Qurbani can change that. By choosing the 'Need is Greatest' option, your sacrifice will go directly to those living in extreme hardship. In conflict zones, or isolated villages where hope is scarce.

Step 3 Image
Prophetic Qurbani — Give on Behalf of Someone in Need

Our beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) would offer an extra Qurbani—not just for himself, but on behalf of those in the Ummah who couldn’t afford to give. What a beautiful act of selflessness. Today, you can revive this Sunnah by donating a Prophetic Qurbani.

FAQ

What is Qurbani?
  • Qurbani, also known as Udhiyah, is the sacrifice of an animal during Eid al-Adha to commemorate Prophet Ibrahim's (AS) willingness to sacrifice his son in obedience to Allah. It's an important act of worship that demonstrates submission to Allah and generosity toward those in need.
Who should perform Qurbani?
  • Qurbani is obligatory on every adult Muslim who is of sound mind and possesses wealth equal to or exceeding the Nisab threshold (the minimum amount that determines one's financial capacity). It's performed on behalf of oneself and can also be done on behalf of family members.
When is Qurbani performed?
  • Qurbani is performed during the days of Eid al-Adha, which begin on the 10th day of Dhul Hijjah (the 12th month of the Islamic calendar) and last until the 13th day. The sacrifice can be performed after the Eid prayer on the first day and continues until sunset on the 13th day.
How is the meat distributed?
  • Traditionally, the Qurbani meat is divided into three parts: one third for the family, one third for friends and neighbors, and one third for those in need. When donating your Qurbani through our masjid, we ensure that the meat reaches the most vulnerable families both locally and internationally, focusing primarily on those in poverty.
Can I perform Qurbani in another country?
  • Yes, you can perform Qurbani in another country. Many Muslims choose to give their Qurbani in countries where poverty is widespread, maximizing the impact of their sacrifice. Through our international programs, we facilitate Qurbani in various countries where the need is greatest, ensuring proper Islamic guidelines are followed.
