Guided by Allah: A Sister's Path to Islam
Every journey to Islam is deeply personal, shaped by signs, struggles, and moments of reflection. This is the story of a young sister who, through the mercy of Allah ﷻ, found her way to Islam and the welcoming arms of Banbury Madni Masjid.
It began in Year 10, when she spent much of her time with Christian friends. One afternoon, while sitting in class and gazing out at a church in the distance, she suddenly heard the word “mosque” in her heart.
At first, she thought little of it, but soon after, dreams connected to Islam began to appear. Looking back, she recognises this as the moment Allah ﷻ placed guidance in her path.
By Year 11, her heart was fully drawn to Islam. While others revised for exams, she spent her time studying the faith, learning about Allah ﷻ, the Qur’an, and the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
She often tried on the hijab in her room, imagining the day when she would wear it with confidence. During this time, she kept her journey private, holding tightly to the hope that one day she would be ready to take the next step.
Though her desire to visit a mosque was strong, anxiety held her back. Phone calls felt too difficult. Then, one day online, she discovered the email address for Banbury Madni Masjid.
With courage, she sent an email—a simple step that became the doorway to a new chapter in her life.
In February 2024, she embraced Islam and recited the Shahadah. From that moment, her life was transformed.
She reflects on how her love for Islam continues to grow daily and how the sisters at Banbury Madni Masjid welcomed her with kindness, guidance, and warmth, making her feel part of a family.
Her story is a reminder that Allah ﷻ guides whom He wills, often in ways we least expect. For those feeling drawn to Islam, take comfort: the path may feel uncertain, but each step brings you closer to truth and peace.
