Ladies Rounders at Chandos Playzone | Banbury Madni Masjid
Banbury Mosque is pleased to share the continued success of its weekly Ladies Rounders sessions, held every Thursday from 7–9 PM at Chandos Playzone. What began as a local sports activity has now grown into a valued community programme that brings women together in a positive and uplifting environment.
The sessions have quickly become a regular highlight in the week for many participants. What was once an underused space has now become a lively hub filled with activity, teamwork, and encouragement. Women of different ages and backgrounds attend each week to enjoy the benefits of movement, fresh energy, and shared time together.
The sessions have steadily grown in popularity, with more women joining each week. Participants come from a variety of backgrounds and age groups, all brought together by a shared interest in staying active and engaged. The atmosphere is welcoming and supportive, allowing everyone to join in at their own pace, whether they are new to the game or have played before. These weekly gatherings have created a positive space where women can enjoy movement, fun, and companionship.
One of the most valued aspects of these sessions is the sense of togetherness they create. Through friendly play and shared moments, women build new friendships, strengthen bonds, and feel part of a welcoming community. These sessions show how local programmes can create meaningful impact beyond just physical activity, encouraging social connection and emotional support.
Chandos Playzone has become a shining example of how community spaces can be used creatively. By opening this venue for weekly Rounders, the space has gained new life, purpose, and benefit for local residents. This aligns with Banbury Mosque’s wider commitment to promoting inclusive, accessible programmes that support the wellbeing of the community.
This initiative has grown with the support of dedicated partners. Banbury Mosque extends sincere thanks to Cherwell District Council (CDC) and Banbury Town Council (BTC) for their ongoing encouragement and assistance. Their commitment to grassroots activities has helped create opportunities that strengthen health, cohesion, and empowerment for local women.
The Ladies Rounders sessions are open to women of all backgrounds and abilities. New participants are warmly welcomed.
